Why Diversity, Equality and Inclusion is a robust driver of change ?
1. The world is opening to limitless possibilities
I want difference sets of eyes, minds, voices and actions which will allow me to see all the unseen visions in the world. Each difference is like a bolt that tightens new connections and creates new unexplored path that you surely do not want to miss. Diversity is an asset. A change mindset is not about changing the way you think but it is more of seeing through many different dimensions to absorb the possibilities of impossibilities for innovation. That makes your brand stand above all. Do you still want to settle for the norm?
2. You hear, and you feel the emotion of people being sidelined just because they don’t blend well in a common group.
But have you ever thought of the strength of being different? Whether by age, race, religion, social status, experience, culture, environment, types of education, behaviour, all these have its own uniqueness that can create a group of hybrid people who pushes the limit and brings out the mind-blowing result which may not work well in a standard structure of workgroup. Exclusion leaves you with empty space waiting to be filled. Inclusion leaves you will overflowing energy waiting to explore and break your limits. Inclusion is a Strength!
3. I want to speak, and I want to be heard!
Many kept silences cause their voices are not given importance or less priority. Unheard voices are like unseized opportunities gone without getting noticed. The more you let people to talk, the more you will hear to explore further, the more you are about to discover, the more you will experience and the more you will create. No one will contribute to a place where they don’t feel belonged. It’s between completing a task versus creating a solution. Which one are you creating?
4. Are we fighting a losing battle?
People create result. But they are divided, the energy is everywhere. We have tried everything and yet your own energy is exhausted in the process. Now I need a pulling force to magnify the energy so that it becomes very powerful. When people are expected to perform equally well, are they treated equally to create the equal performance? Don’t focus on performance until people feel the same across your organization or else you will be fighting a losing battle. Equality is the Power!
5. Be Seen to be followed
You can’t create an army to defend your territory if you can’t create warriors who is willing to bite the bullet for you. Whether is top to bottom, or right to left, it does not matter. What matters is wherever you are positioned, people must believe your values which represent diversity, equality and inclusion! Through these values they are seeing themselves on the possibilities of growth. When you are there, then you have the PREFECT ROBOT to create results!
